Kelly Umansky, LMSW
Welcome! I work with clients across various life stages, from early childhood to adulthood. We partner to address “big feelings” and behaviors, as well as symptoms of anxiety, depression, ADHD, self-harm, and low self-esteem.
My foundational approach is rooted in person-centered and strengths-based principles. With younger clients, I leverage techniques from play and creative arts therapies, as well as mindfulness tools. For adolescents and adults, I employ an eclectic toolkit with methods from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Design Thinking to guide the therapeutic process.
Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working across diverse settings such as medical clinics, universities, corporate environments, and private practice. This journey has allowed me to connect deeply with people as they share their experiences and craft their intended stories.
What energizes me is collaborating with clients as they navigate their unique life paths. My goal is to provide a nurturing and inclusive space that promotes healing – a place where clients feel safe to explore challenges and cultivate a practice of self-compassion.
Kelly accepts Excellus Commercial Plans (No managed care plans; e.i. Blue Choice Option, Child Health Plus, Medicaid). Kelly also provides services via private pay rates. Please contact the practice to discuss rates.
